Dangers, Pleasures and Misadventures
Saturday, January 20th at 6:00pm
Local author, Steve Scott, will present his recent book about his experiences in the great outdoors, his many animal rescues, and fire fighting dangers, as well as his many encounters with people from different walks of life, plus his childhood escapades told with humor, that everyone can relate to.
Steve's life of adventure began in 1948. That's when the devastating Van Port Flood hit Portland, Oregon, flooding his parents' home in the Parkrose area at NE 112th and Liberty, with twelve feet of water. He was inducted into the Army and served two tours of duty from 1968 to 1973. Steve lived all but two years of his life in Oregon with a large part of them spent in the great outdoors. All his stories are true and based entirely on his personal experiences. He owned and operated his own logging and tree climbing business for nearly 25 years and 13 years as a contract fire fighter for the Forest Service, experiences which led to many of the tales he tells. Now retired, he lives with his wife Tonny and Angel their cat, in Redmond, Oregon.
