Children's Book and Music Event

Saturday June 8th at 11am

Little ones will love this event full of stories and song! Herringbone Books will be hosting two children's authors as well as a singer/songwriter for a fun morning event.

Barbara Herkert is a children's biographer who looks for details in peoples' lives that will appeal to children. Her works include Sewing Stories: Harriet Powers’ Journey from Slave to Artist, Mary Cassatt: Extraordinary Impressionist Artist and A Boy, a Mouse, and a Spider, a biography of E.B White which is a finalist for the 2019 Oregon Book Awards.

Gretchen Brandenburg McLellan is a former reading specialist who now writes children's picture books, as well as chapter books and middle grade novels. She crafts heartfelt tales about courage, community and compassion. She will be presenting a couple of these beautiful stories during her time here at the store.

Linda Yapp is a singer/songwriter from the Oregon Coast, where she owns and operates a Montessori School. She is known as the Singing Lemon Drop Fairy throughout the Pacific Northwest, thanks to a 25-year persona at the Oregon Country Fair. She will be singing several songs that bring all of our stories for the day together in a theme of friendship.
