In her latest book, local favorite Jane Kirkpatrick brings yet another historical female to life in a stunning work of historical fiction. This time, she imagines what was really going through Carrie Strahorn's mind as she traveled the American west with her railroad promoter husband, Robert Strahorn. The novel takes place 10 years after the publication of Strahorn's biography, Fifteen Thousand Miles by Stage. It explores Strahorn's personal journey and growth, and the struggle a woman faces to maintain a sense of self and purpose when in the relationship with a strong-willed man.
