This is a daytime kids' event about a local celebrity; Grace, the Deschutes River swan. Alice Elshoff's beautiful and touching picture book tells the true story about how the Central Oregon community came together to rescue and rehabilitate Grace the swan. After she healed and was returned to the Deschutes River, she was courted by Chuck, the infamously cantankerous male swan and the pair went on to raise a clutch of cygnets that were as adored by their parents. Kids will love this beautifully illustrated book that showcases the bond between people and wildlife in the high desert.
