Amos is a self-sufficient man born and raised in the Canadian Rockies. As a young man in the early 1900s, he finds a lone wolf-dog that becomes his faithful companion. Amos' knowledge of the outdoors allows him to survive and thrive in the wilderness. You see Amos' faith in action while he relies on God to guide and protect him. Amos has a longing for the woman he has cherished since childhood and the family they desire to have one day. When Joseph comes into their lives, a sense of peace follows. Vickie Whitehead is a children's author and illustrates her books. She is a mother of two adult sons and a grandmother. Teaching children of all ages is her delight. She and her family were missionaries to the Philippines from 2002 until 2010 teaching missionary children. She is now a teacher to fifth graders at a Christian school in Colorado. The dynamic of Drifter was born when she and her husband would tell stories to their sons before bedtime. Having a love for the outdoors and participating in mountain man rendezvous' sparked the idea for the beloved character of Amos and his devoted dog, Drifter. Their adventures along the way should inspire and give hope to all those that love the outdoors and have a desire to strengthen their walk with the Lord.
